Mrs. M is at Southshore Ctr, a Private & Safe, Multi-Use Beautiful Area that includes large Indoor & Outdoor class spaces with Experiment Areas, a Woodland Trail, Woodland Glen Pond, Playground, Multi-Use Football Field & more! Every week there are guest animals highlighted who visit, special camp features with art & science projects plus cool field trips both around here--hiking, etc. & in Tonka Bay & Excelsior (including Historic Lake Minnetonka & many fine places there for field trips)! Join us for great times, history & fun on Lake Cruises, ice cream hops, trolley rides, theater, pet shops, visiting vet visits, Excelsior Fire & Police Dept. hiking tours, pizza shops, cool shops, restaurants, bays, beaches, family clinic, Xcel energy, chocolate shop, playgrounds, & more!! May: 27-31 AM: Tonka Spring Butterfly & Dragonfly Event. Featuring Butterflies (we’ll really hatch), Dragonflies (we’ll catch), Birds & eggs. June 10-14 AM: Tonka Baby Animals: Turtles, Ponds, Bays & Beach! Feature: Real Turtles! Make mini turtle coves, Paper Turtle Shell Art & Classic Tonka Turtle Bay Posters! June 24-28 AM: Tonka Puppy Olympics Camp: Agility Fun: Pet Shop Visit! Featuring: Pet dogs trying our cool puppy obstacle course—just for fun. All dogs get USA ribbons. Make a USA Pet Ribbon & Flag, Dog Posters & make real Dog Treats! Field Trip: Truffle Hill Chocolate Shop, Excelsior Beach & Noah’s Ark Pets!
June 24-28 PM: Tonka Boats & Dogs: Lady of the Lake Cruise! Learn about Lady of the Lake cruise ship! Make a Classic Tonka Cruise Ship Poster & dog feature, a Tonka stuffed dog life jacket & real dog treats! July 1-5 AM: Tonka Mini Horse Camp! Real Mini Horse! Learn about horses & Stuart will visit us! Make a mini horse stable, paint horse posters & mini horse blanket (to fit an American Girl Horse!) Trips: Minnetonka old farm area—Gideon Glen, Beach, Truffle Hill Chocolate Shop! **Join us: 4th of July Parade-Excelsior!
July 1-5 PM: Tonka Trolley Beach Ice Cream & Party! Make, Eat & Create Ice Cream! Create our own ice cream, a mini ice cream cake & eat other hand made ice creams complete with a Grand Beach Ice Cream Party! July 15-19 AM: Tonka Puppy Olympics: USA dogs! Featuring: local dogs who are breeds from around the USA. We’ll create our own Dog Treasure Hunt-Tonka style. USA ribbons 4 all! Make a Tonka Dog Trophy, paint a USA Dog Breed poster & Dog Magnets to hang up. Field Trips: Gideon’s Glen & Woodland Glen Pond, Excelsior Beaches & Commons & Noah’s Ark Pet Shop!
July 15-19 PM: Tonka Yachts & Sailboats! Southshore Yacht Club. We love being on these boats. Make a mini Sailboat, a classic Yacht Club Poster, & Puppy Yacht Club Flag. Field Trip: Southshore Yacht Club, Lady of the Lake Cruise, Excelsior Beach and Commons! Try out your boats at the lake!!

Aug. 5-9 AM: Tonka Theater: Cartoons & Animation Basics & Excelsior Dock-3 Cinema! Learn about & visit with a real rabbit & mouse as we do basic cartoons and animation of them. Make a fun theater book of what we do all week (painting, marker, shading…etc.)! Field Trips: Excelsior Beaches (sand mouse art) & Commons, Excelsior Dock Cinema 3 & Noah’s Ark Pet Shop!
Aug. 5-9 PM: Tonka Puppy Olympics: K-9 Patrol & Southlake Police Dept.! Learn about local dogs who help people. We’ll tour the police department as they help people too! We’ll make a mini puppy agility course, make a stuffed animal K-9 jacket, Tonka Dog painted poster & Tonka Dog Flags for Dog Course. Field Trips: Southlake Police Dept., Excelsior K-9 group & Minnehaha Lake Cruise!
Aug. 12-16 AM: Tonka Energy! Feature: Xcel Energy, Wind, Solar & Mechanical! Learn about electricity, wind, solar & Mechanical energy! We’ll make a mini electric light, kites to fly, solar surprise & mechanical science project. Field trips: Xcel Energy, Gideon’s Glen & Bay, Excelsior Beaches & Commons!

Aug. 19-23 AM: Tonka Lake & Fish Plus Sea Creatures Under Water! Learn about our Tonka fish and habitats. Join the adventure as we learn how sharks, dolphins whales & rays survive. We’ll make a classic Lake Minnetonka Fish Poster, Cool Shell Art on Wood, Dolphin paintings & Whale Watching scenes. Field Trips: Gideon’s Glen, Excelsior Beaches & Commons, Fishing Demo too.
Aug. 19-23 PM: Tonka Wheels, Boats & Flight--Speed!! All American Recreation! Learn how bikes, cars, boats & water planes go so fast! Toys for kids & adults. We’ll have our own toy car races, model boat races & paper airplane races! Make Model Cars, Car & Boat Designs & Futuristic Sea/ Airplane Drawings-Tonka Style! Field Trips: Boat Demo, Lady of the Lake Cruise, Manitou Park & All American Recreation Fun!
Aug. 26-30 AM: Apple Days Camp! Feature:Gideon Wealthy Apples & Leipolds! Do you love Apple Days? We’ll learn about apples, the Excelsior apple history, have a parade, make homemade apple pie, caramel apples, apple print art, mini apple cart & taste different kinds of apples! All things apple! Field Trips: Gideon’s Glen, Gideon’s Bay- orchard, Excelsior Beach & Commons & Leipolds!
Aug. 26-30 PM: Tonka Beach Ice Cream Party & Lady of the Lake Cruise! Make, Eat & Create Ice Cream!
